This manuscript volume contains two plays. The first play is The finished traveller: a new comedy, 1775. Contains title page (leaf 1), dramatis personae (leaf 4), Acts 3-5 only (leaves 56-139), and a preface and notes (leaves 198-208); acts 1-2 have been cut out of the volume. The second play is Scavoir vivre, or, The fair epicure: a new comedy of two acts, 1777. Contains title page (leaf 141), preface (leaf 142), "Adventures of the green peas, a Parisian anecdote," (leaves 143-147), dramatis personae (leaf 148) and the text of the play (leaves 149-198). Both titles have written at the foot of the title pages: "N.B. This is a Counterpart of the Original Manuscript," in the same hand (leaves 1 and 141).
